Changes...

Change is inevitable - except from a vending machine. ~Robert C. Gallagher

In the world of adoption, change is inevitable. When your original plan clearly isn't working you're left to make 2 choices. Keep doing it knowing the end result will be the same or try something new. The first option is pretty much the definition of insanity. The second option can lead to insanity. :)

Jeremy and I have learned through our many struggles with infertility that we don't always get our plan A. When we knew pregnancy was not an option, many asked us if adoption was our plan B. "Nope," we replied. "It's the new plan A."

When we put our paperwork in with LDS Family Services 2 1/2 years ago our plan A was to adopt through them again. We had a whole list of preferences on our plan A. Nothing too picky and as the months got longer, our preferences got shorter.

It's time for a new plan A. After much prayer and the hugest leap of faith ever imaginable, we have submitted paperwork to another adoption agency. Our profile will still be with LDS Family Services and we still pray our guts out that this path will be the one to work out. But we have felt prompted to try another path to bring another one into our family. So I guess you could actually say we have two plan A's!

This is incredibly scary. Going to another agency will cost us thousands more. There are many unknowns. When I try to sit down and analyze how it will work, it only leads to anxiety and doubt. But when I approach it with faith and prayers, instant peace engulfs every part of me. And Jeremy as well.

So if you see me, remind me to breathe and that sometimes a leap of faith brings about the greatest miracles. We'll see where this journey takes us. It may bring us exactly what we've been praying for or it may lead to a new plan A.

When you are through changing, you are through. ~Bruce Barton
