The Zoo

I woke up feeling somewhat spontaneous today and decided to quickly get Emmy and I ready for a day at the zoo. We hadn't been since last year (Em was not impressed at all when we went) and today was a beautiful day so why not. On the drive to the zoo Emmy kept saying "I see bears? I see kitties?" She was very excited! We rode the train, saw tons of animals and rode the carousel twice. It was a fun day even with the tantrums that came with it. If you notice in the bottom right hand corner I captured two of those tantrum moments. Yes, I'm THAT mom that takes pictures of their kids while they have a tantrum instead of saying something soothing to them. I may or may not have laughed as well. She loves carousels more than anything - on our trip to Italy last year she rode the carousel there multiple times. She has a way of conning you into letting her ride it more than once. Luckily for her they didn't require a carousel ticket from me so she got to ride it twice. After each turn she sobbed saying she needed to go again. Then she threw a tantrum because Mommy made her sit on a kitty statue to have her picture taken. She wanted nothing to do with those kitties. She even hissed and growled at them as we left. The people around us were laughing so hard.
We did have a lot of fun! Emmy loved the bears, giraffes, monkeys, and meerkats. She kept asking if she could have a "meerkittycat." Uh sure honey....next time......
