Take 5...

I'm working lately at having a better attitude of gratitude. Most days it's not really that hard - I am truely blessed and grateful for all that I have. Occasionally though I let my doubts and thoughts enter my mind and I start doing the pity party thing. I'm really not so much a fan of moments like that so when it does happen, I write in my gratitude journal or just stop and breathe. I remind myself of all that I do have and I'm feeling much better in no time.
So here's my 5 thoughts of gratitude for today...

1. Emmy - I'm so smitten. The kid is truely hilarious. She has a new thing where she dances around then takes a bow with her eyes closed and her arms reached out straight behind her. The description does little justice. She'll stay in that pose until you clap for her. And if you are busy cooking or reading a magazine, err...I mean cleaning...then she'll come over right in your face, put your hands together and make you clap then go back to her bow. She doesn't love attention at all. Not. at. all.

2. Jeremy- how did I get so blessed to have a husband that does the dishes for me every night? And he runs the dishwasher! Last night we had our YW activity and a couple of the leaders had their little girls with them because their husbands were working. Jeremy offered to take all the girls to the playground for a couple of hours. I thought he might be a little frazzled by the end of it but he said he actually had a lot of fun. He's a keeper for sure!

3. Swimming - I love swimming. I love being in the water. I love that Emmy loves the water even more than I do. Good times.

4. My grandparents - Today Emmy and I went to their house for a visit. My grandmother is simply amazing. She pulled out so many things for Emmy to do. I was thoroughly exhausted after an hour and when I thought Em and I would head home, Grandmother said, "hey, let's go to lunch!" That woman has more energy then anyone I know. So we went to lunch and then we introduced her to Red Mango Frozen Yogurt - a family favorite of ours! We had a fun day with her!

5. Dream Dinners - I have no shame in admitting that I don't love to cook. I can cook and I do cook. I'm working on a better attitude because Emmy loves to cook and I want her to grow up loving to cook if that's what she wants to do. However, I love Dream Dinners - a place where I go and make my freezer meals every month. I usually only go every 3-4 months or so but I heart this place big time. The food is amazing. This months recipes - Steak Gargonzola, Almond Chicken, Chicken Mirabella, Chicken parmesean just to name a few. I'm going tomorrow and I can't wait.... yummmmmmmmm......
