What does a 2 year old Play date look like?

Emmy had a friend come over to play today.
Did you know that 2 year olds have very short attention spans?
It's true. Oh so true.

We dumped all the toys out of the toy box.
And finally settled on playing blocks.
For 2 minutes.

Then we made cookies.

Actually it was more like they ate cookies with a side of sprinkles.
Maybe lasted 10 minutes - mostly because it takes awhile to chew all those sprinkles.

Next up was Bubble dancing.
Danced through 2 Princess Ariel songs. Maybe 5 minutes max.
Colored in new Princess Coloring books and made Valentines for their Dads.
3 minutes. Surprisingly it doesn't take that long to stick 15 stickers to a heart. These girls are speedy.

Glowstick dancing in the dark.
This was a hit. It lasted through 10 times of singing "Do As I'm Doing"

Sticking hearts on the windows.
Less than 2 minutes. Note to self - stickers just don't take that much time. Unless of course your child sticks one on the cat - that adds a good 3 minutes of cat yelping and girls laughing.
Add another 3 minutes to rip all the hearts into tiny pieces. Another favorite of the morning. Who knew?

Lunch. Apparently they wore themselves out because it was silent for 10 minutes. And they both ate two bowls each of mac and cheese. Pretty impressive considering that was after eating goldfish crackers, 2 cookies, sprinkles, and some frosting.

I guess it's a lot of work to be 2.

That looks like a great play date. Iris's are usually just them playing in her room for an hour... I should do more! LOL
