Day 3 and 4: Boarding the cruise and Dubrovnik, Croatia

My pictures aren't great from the next two days because it was wet, wet, wet. The rain started the morning we boarded the cruise ship and pretty much didn't end until we got off the cruise ship.
Unfortunately I don't have a ton from Dubrovnik and it was by far one of the most gorgeous places we visited.

Highlights from these two days:

* I packed too much. Trying to carry our luggage over all the bridges in Venice to the cruise shuttle in the pouring rain wasn't Jeremy's idea of a good time. Pretty sure the next time we travel he would like to pack. It would probably be a backpack for all 3 of us. The sad thing is that when we did Venice 2 years ago, it was pouring rain and Jeremy had to carry our luggage over all the bridges then too. You'd think I would have learned. Nope.
* We loved our cruise ship the moment we boarded. Incredible staff. They all went out of their way to talk to Emmy and engage her. Very impressive.
*Emmy's favorite part of the ship besides the pool - dancing in front of the band that played each evening. She has some impressive moves.
* Emmy loved her towel animals (so much so that I somehow put that picture in here twice. oops!)
* In Dubrovnik, you walk up on the city walls. Emmy thought it was her castle and she was a princess. She danced and sang the entire time. It was in the middle of a torrential rain storm but she just kept singing.
*See us in those really sexy ponchos? We wore them a lot. They were pretty much shredded by our last day.
* Pigeons were a big hit in Dubrovnik as well. A nice Croatian man gave Emmy some bread to feed them after she had chased them around a few times. They sat on Jeremy and Emmy's lap and ate out of their hands. One even sat in the stroller and tried to come home with us. Not the souvenir I was looking for...
* While walking through the back streets of Dubrovnik, a little Croatian girl appeared and started walking with Emmy. They held hands, and were giggling non stop. We couldn't figure out where this little girl came from. Finally we realized that she belonged to the restaurant owners around the corner. Emmy and Petra laughed, hugged, kissed on cheeks, etc. Petra didn't speak english but those two were very quickly best friends.

Even with the rain it sounds like it was a great trip! I loved the castles Jeremy made-quite impressive! Did he come up with the design as well?
Cute blogs and pictures Leslie!
